The Police and Crime Panel (PCP) scrutinise the work of the Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) and make sure she is holding the Chief Constable to account and performing her role effectively.
PCPs have power to look at the Commissioner's activities, including;
- requesting reports from the PCC;
- calling PCCs and Chief Constables to public hearings;
- the power of veto over the recruitment of Chief Constable and decisions over the policing element of Council Tax payments.
Merseyside's Police and Crime Panel is made up of 12 people; 10 local councillors and 2 independent members recruited from the local community.

Upcoming meetings
