The Police Commissioner is elected every four years by the people of Merseyside.

In light of the global Coronavirus pandemic, on 13th March 2020 the UK government announced that local elections, including those for Police and Crime Commissioners (PCCs), planned for 7th May 2020 would be postponed for a year.

The election will now be held in May 2021.

To vote in a Police and Crime Commissioner Election, you must be over 18 and registered to vote.

Information on registering to vote can be found on the Electoral Commission’s website.

The Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner has no role in organising the election, or in circulating information about the candidates.
